2017 Race - thank you video still

On May 13, thousands from all across Central Virginia converged on Brown’s Island for the 2017 Race for the Cure® - our 20th! Even the weather couldn't dampen the spirit of the event. What a great day it was!

We would like to again thank all those who were there to stand beside us in the fight against breast cancer, whether a co-survivor, sponsor, donor, Race participant, caregiver, friend or volunteer. We would also like to extend a special thanks to all the breast cancer survivors who allowed us to honor and celebrate them on Race Day. You are and will always be the heart of our Race.

While there were many deserving individuals entered in the More Than Pink Mustang Raffle, courtesy of Richmond Ford, we could not have been more excited to see a breast cancer survivor win our car raffle again this year. Congratulations, Kim Patterson! We hope you are enjoying your new ride.

We hope to see you at next year's Race when we turn 21!

Help Us Finish Strong

The Race for the Cure is our largest fundraiser each year. Funds raised support our neighbors here in Central Virginia who face a diagnosis of breast cancer. Through the generosity shown by participants, sponsors, supporters, and friends like you, we will be able to add significantly to the more than $7.9 million that Komen Central Virginia has been able to contribute over the past 19 years to fund much-needed community grants and groundbreaking national research.

We would like to thank and recognize this year's Top 10 Fundraising Teams and Individuals.

2017 Race - Tops 10s as of June 19, 2017

You can still make an impact in our community after the Race by fundraising or making a personal donation. We will continue to accept Race donations through the end of June.

Remember, up to 75% of Komen’s net revenue is used to support local community-based education, screening, and treatment programs. The remaining 25% of the net income supports cutting-edge scientific research through the Susan G. Komen® Grants Program.
