Happy New Year!

Happy New YearWe at Komen Central Virginia hope that you had a rich and fulfilling holiday season and are coming back to the New Year refreshed and energized. We are certainly approaching the New Year with great optimism and drive as we begin anew to further realize our vision of a world without breast cancer.

We start our year with excitement about our 15th Annual Race for the Cure on Mother’s Day weekend, Saturday, May 12. Who knew that the vision of a few friends would grow over the years to become one of the most anticipated and uplifting events in the Richmond area? We are delighted that our original founders, Jennifer Norvell Saunders and Kay Baker Huband, have agreed to act as our honorary Race Co-Chairs for our 15th Anniversary. We hope to see you there!

Join Us on May 12 for the 2012 Central Virginia Race for the Cure®

Celebrating 15 YearsWe hope you will be there for the 15th Annual Central Virginia Race for the Cure® on Mother’s Day weekend!  How better to honor those in Central Virginia who have been touched by breast cancer?  You will be uplifted by survivors, family and friends who are celebrating their journey and working together to make a difference in our community.  Registration is Open Now and Early Bird registration fees apply until March 10.  Don’t wait!

Funds raised during this event are used to support breast cancer screening, education, and treatment programs in Central Virginia.  To meet our funding goals we need 10,000 race participants and $1,000,000 to be raised.  Your grassroots efforts fund our work – and WE NEED YOU to make it happen!

We’ve added a new Kick-Off event for the Race – The 1st Annual High Heel Dash.  Sound interesting?  Click here for more information or to register and join us on March 10 for this event.

Have you participated in our Race the past 14 years?  Do you know someone who has?  We would love to hear from you and honor you at this year’s race!  Click here to send us your contact information.
