My interest started 5 years ago when I lost my dear cousin Janet Morrissett at a very young age. I wanted to do something in her honor so I joined the SGK Race for the Cure. From that first race I knew this would not be a one and done event for me.
In the summer of 2014, one of my best friends of more than 30 years, Lisa Tong was diagnosed. My co-founder of the pinky pack and my true twin if ever I had one. If we are just sitting around reading and relaxing poolside, or cussing at the TV watching sports, power shopping or just enjoying each others company, she brings me joy everyday and I am thankful to have found her 25 plus years ago. She has always tackled life head on and her fight with breast cancer is no different. In true Lisa style, she has told cancer to bite me.
Lisa has many loved ones to support her but I want to give her a voice. My commitment and inspiration to fight this disease for her and my cousin comes from the courage Lisa has in her battle to remain a Survivor.
During my journey to fight this disease I have been honored and humbled to meet all those who have been impacted by breast cancer. My fight will not end until we find the cure.
Forever and Always
